Anointing

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20

Anointed by God.

Called to live for God.

Set apart.

Not your own.

Sacrificially gifted.

Anointing comes with a price. The beauty in it is you can hear God's voice clearly and know what he wants you to do. However it leaves you no comparison to anyone else's life, peer or kin. That's the life Jesus lived. He felt the presence of God stronger than anything. He left his mother and family to build a family on the outskirts of his hometown, his church was a traveling church. He knew he was ferociously loved yet he had to experience the highs and lows of a glamour stricken calling. Jesus was living out what he was ordained to do. Are we?

When we give our lives to the Lord we too will be crucified with Christ and it is no longer about us. That doesn't mean we can’t experience the highs of witnessing the supernatural working within us and witness the transformation of lives right before our eyes. We are free to be lighthearted, uplifted, joyful, expectant.

We are covered by the declaration of our tongues and the stance of our conviction.

But there will be times of separation from crowds and separation from poppin/happening/ lit (whatever your generation calls a very good time) social scenes.

There will be times things don't work out the way we planned. There will be times we want to go one way when God is leading us another way. There will be times God wants us to spend time alone with him when it is inconvenient. Sometimes he will wake you up in the middle of the night, there will be a pressing deep inside for you to get on your knees and pray, there will be an opening of your heart and funny feeling in your ears, a stirring deep inside. These are the signs of your anointing telling you it's time to walk in your calling even when you prefer to conquer a more familiar, comfortable task.

If I was back in my home church those would be the signs before I start shouting. You know that feeling hasn't gone away. But when I feed my Spirit with worldly concerns and desires, celebrity reports, daily news feeds, that feeling shrinks and anxiety is replaced, troubling brews within me, my focus is thwarted. I don’t feel so powerful I feel a little defeated and I don’t know about you but I don’t like feeling defeated not even a little bit. But when I spend time with God intimacy builds and there is protection from the outside lull.

Awaken the fire of the Holy Ghost.

Intimacy with God Tips

1. Spend time with God alone

wait until everyone is sleep or lock yourself in a room ALONE.

2. Put thy phone away.

Or if you have more self control than me at least turn off the notifications and sound, there should be no distractions.

3. Sacrifice Something

Whether its TV , social media or sugar. This will weaken your natural man/woman and awaken the supernatural because you will be relying on that six sense, the Holy Spirit to bring you closer to God's voice and his desires.

4. Find something HolyMary and make that a hobby and this becomes a ministry the more you grow.

After 1, 2 and 3 steps ( I feel like Ciara) you interest in heavenly knowledge will naturally build. Whether its (Quarantine version) Pandora praise songs station, praise dance in the living room, choir on videochat commit to learning through a ministry. Spend time developing your spiritual craft the way you would with your natural craft. There is something about worship and praise songs, true church movies (just saw the Clark Sisters, First Ladies of Gospel yesterday and I haven't stopped playing their songs on Youtube) that is so nostalgic to me

This is so off topic but I remember the beautifully dressed men and women of God in my home church, I saw them walk the walk and moved in the Spirit. The ones I wanted to emulate that’s what I focused on. That’s what kept me in church. I didn’t dwell on negative experiences. I saw the fire of God in my mother and my aunt. And I followed their walk. The same fire that my mom taught with, the same fire my aunt preached with is the same fire that stirs me to write, to dance, to live this life in total adoration of my King. David had it. Elijah had it. Elisha had it. Mary birthed it. Jesus had it. Mary MG prepared and poured it. The early church had it. The church of my youth had it. We should all have it. It burns to the core. it causes bodies to kill viruses. It causes us to do bold, audacious things in the name of Jesus.

Tell Disney they need to do a movie about it. Anointing that is. Viewer’s souls will catch the fire.

Forever his intimate servant,

The Parable Girl
