Unconventional Messiah

Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?” “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”

The religious leaders of Jesus’s day never saw someone like Jesus before. He had that rabbi swag. He had confidence even in his youth. His trod was heavenly; as if angels walked before and after him, yet he was never pompous, nor arrogant. This teacher of the law didn’t condemn but healed and produced on the spot miracles. He was linked with the unclean, the outcasts and the disadvantaged, he even forgave the adulterer! Wooo…More than anything he knew how to stir the hearts of the people as if he were reading the codes that were being transcribed with every beat of their chest. HOLD ON…. Jesus knew how to decode before it was a thing! Love that!!

Jesus came for those who wore their impurity like a drape of shabby clothes for everyone to see. But he also came for those that were good at pretending. He came for the drug addict but he also came for the control freak. He came for the sex trafficker but he also came for the the closet racist. He came for the un-churched but he also came for the hypocrites that are the church. He came for the promiscuous but he also came for the self -stimulator. Let’s face it and fess up! He came for all of us! Jesus wrote a slew of sins in one stroke that represented us all, the dignified and undignified. If we were standing with the Pharisees and Sadducees that day we would see the word that describes us to a tee.

Let’s remember Jesus was a perfect man and perfect God but he never looked down on imperfect people. Neither should we.

Jesus was man in every way and tempted in every way but never fell into the trap sin so often ensnares. So he becomes our ultimate teacher, the real deal. There is no filter to make him look better. He is the enhancement! Let Jesus be your filter. Stop hiding away. He is the only one standing over you. Look up.

Our Messiah can crush us with one word yet he decides to coach us towards our true potential no matter how many times we fail the test. He wants to prep us to pass with his constant instruction. He knows we cant do it without him and every time we try he doesn't stand there to mock us. He stands there to tell us to get back up and he gives us the tools to be better. How faithful is he!

Jesus, our Messiah, our Yesuah Hamashiach, Our savior is not to be put in a box. He is not to be packaged and shipped for delivery like an Amazon Prime package for a particular type of Christian but he is a Messiah that fits all sizes, all shapes, all colors, all creeds. That is why more than ever we need Jesus in this unconventional world to turn the head of the greatest critic. He is bigger than traditions, he is bigger than religion. He wants us to break out of our box too. He wants us to minister to those that would never walk in a church, never read the Word, never watch a Christian film, never pray...on their own.

You are their Christian film. You are their church. You are the Word that Jesus spoke of before his ascension with the help of the Holy Spirit. So what do you do with that responsibility?

Jesus was the first to break out of synagogues and have street ministry. He was the temple. Let's not save prayers for the pillow let's fulfill prayer request on Facebook, Instagram with on the spot prayer. Let’s give our children permission to lead others to Christ in the lunchroom, on the cheese bus, on the playground. Let's be ambassadors. let's represent the kingdom well.. Let’s never be silent on how Christ has changed us. How is your Christianity unconventional? John 8
